RIP Willie “Pops” Mitchell
January 5, 2010A true legend in soul music, and Hip Hop, has passed. Willie Mitchell is one of the roots of sampling in Hip Hop. He is often sampled, mostly by The RZA of the Wu and countless others. This is a sad day in music…mostly for me. Just being around and down the street from his studio was inspiration enough. Peace Pops.
